Gail Duberchin, writer name of Gayle Ann Weinstein, will read her nonfiction piece “Moraine Hills State Park” at Side Project Theater as part of The Kindness of Strangers: A Festival of Storytelling at 7:30pm 439 W Jarvis Ave, Chicago, IL (773) 340-0140 on October 29, 2013. Gail will join more than thirty storytellers converging on Chicago for this three-week festival featuring first-time and experienced tellers. Gail’s nonfiction vignette, “Meet Me On The Corner,” was accepted for publication by Persimmon Tree Literary Magazine in June of 2013 and will be published within the next twelve months. Her first fiction piece, “American Buddha,” which won first place in Jane’s Stories Bite Size Contest, was published by Jane’s Stories Press in February 2008. In March 2008, she spent two weeks at Ragdale Artist’s Colony (Lake Forest, IL), and she received a Creative Writing Certificate from the University of Chicago in 2009. Previously she has been a reader for Other Voices (Univ. of Ill. literary magazine) and Narrative Magazine.
